THE PERFECT CAKE (BREAD)
The cake is not much more than a bread divided in two to which some salty, sweet, simple or very elaborate filling is added.These cakes are very popular in Mexico.
1. Bean cake with cheese
It is one of the most popular, simple and delicious cakes, they are prepared with well refried beans, cheese and golden bolillo.
2. Sweet cakes
As children many of us ate cans of cajeto (dulce de leche), of butter with sugar, or even of banana. It is something like that, like an advance dessert.
3. Ham cake
a whole classic! This is the base cake from which all other options emerge. ham, tomato, onion, mayonnaise and maybe a slice of cheese.
4. Drowned cake
originally from guadalajara and has a way of being the spiciest. They are prepared with salty birote, cornitas, onion and a chile de arbol sauce that can range from moderate to very spicy.
5. The macaw
typical of León, Guanajuato. The bolillo is filled with dura (pork chicharron) and a tomato, onion and chili sauce to which avocado can be added.
